The last couple of days have been busy!  I took a group of students up to OMSI yesterday to see the Body Worlds Exhibit.  What a mixture of emotions...there was fascination, reverence, sadness, and gratitude...and those were just the ones felt by me.  A couple of the kids were a bit "creeped out".  As one put it, "It's a good thing we're doing this on a weekend, cause I won't be sleeping tonight."  If you ever get a chance to see the exhibit, I highly recommend it.  My students were great...they all got along, and had fun experiencing OMSI.

Today, we had 3 field trip opportunities for our students...the Douglas County Museum, Nordic Mill, and the UCC Viticulture/Oenology program.  I went with the group to UCC. Although I am not a fan of wine, the process of raising grapes (the grafting, planting, tending) is interesting, as I like growing things.  The day was beautiful, amazing actually for a February day.  There was a thick blanket of fog early, that was fairly quickly burnt off by the sun.  Made me think of spring!  :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

My day was not a run-of-the-mill Valentine's Day.  I've been sick, and feeling like I want to take a skewer through my head to release the pressure.  I sounded so bad today that my co-workers thought I should go home, and I obliged without too much fuss.  Jason and I have a movie date tonight, but as we had already opened our Valentine's presents, I was not expecting anything more.  However, my guy is a man of many surprises!  :-)  When I told him that I'd come home from work early, he was not happy.  He finally let out that I had flowers being delivered...at work, where I no longer was.  :-)  Fortunately, Kathy came to the door with a "special delivery" on her way home from work.  The flowers are absolutely beautiful, and Jason is absolutely wonderful.  I'm a very lucky lady!
