Oh, what a beautiful day!

I took my Tide Pool Exploration class to the pools at Cape Arago today.  Now, when you are viewing these photos, keep in mind that today is November 1.  I had to wait for ice to thaw from my windshield this morning before I could head to work.  It was COLD!  But by the grace of God, it was BEAUTIFUL at Cape Arago.  It was t-shirt, capris, and sunglasses weather.  We had a fabulous time.  :~)

A limpet.

Several limpets clinging to a rock.

A limpet.  We noticed that in one particular area, the limpets all had little tags on them with numbers.
We're guessing they (researchers from somewhere) are tracking how and where the limpets move.

Miles studying life in an incoming tide stream.

A hermit crab.  Yes, all you can see is the shell.  I picked this little guy up, and he took refuge deep in the shell, away from my prying eyes.  I made sure he was put back where he was found.  He scurried away about a minute after I put him down.

The view through the trees from the top of the trail, heading down the cliff.

All that we had hoped to find...we were out of luck with finding any spiny sea urchins, and Sam
was the only one who spotted a chiton.

Dad was our volunteer driver.  Here he is lounging while the students are playing on the beach.
